The monument is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The skyward-facing stele consists of 25 facets, each symbolizing one of the nation's key achievements and events over the years of independence—from 1991 to the present. The 25 facets represent 25 years of Independence and 25 important stages in the history of modern Kazakhstan. The monument, directed toward the sky, embodies the aspirations, hopes, and spiritual aspirations of Kazakhstanis.
